So, the coup failed. Whatever the outcome would have been a gift for David Cameron. Either he'd have been facing another unelected Prime Minister or a mortally wounded incumbent.
The real winner is the electorate. We now get to give our verdict on this incompetent, sly, underhand & downright dishonest Government at the ballot box. Brown has been denied the opportunity of saying the public never rejected him.
